Cancellation policy
Need to cancel? No problem. We understand that life can be unpredictable and acknowledge sometimes you may have to cancel your groom. All we ask is that you provide 24 hours notice. This will give us a chance to reallocate your appointment. If you do not give the required notice or don’t show up you will he charge the full appointment fee and will be unable to book in until this is paid.
Late fee
If you arrive any longer than 15 minutes after your organise appointment time we may be unable to complete your selected service, due to it affecting the rest of the scheduled appointments. A late fee (of £10) will be added if you arrive over 15 minutes late or are more than 15 minutes late to collect your dog.
Matting
Humanity over vanity is my policy regarding matting. Matting is not simply being knotty, it is a painful condition. It cuts off blood supply and can cause bruising and hematomas. Due to the animal welfare act matting will be shaved. I will not brush out or leave matting. Golden Hour Grooming also accepts no liability when a reaction occurs after a matted shave off. This includes but is not limited to skin sensitivity, rashes, bruising and hematomas. Matting is preventable if your dog is on a regular schedule. There will also be an additional charge for matting which can range from £10 to £50 depending on severity.
Schedules
At Golden Hour Grooming we recommend most dogs to stay on a consistent 6-8 week schedule. This keeps up a positive association as well as maintaining a healthy coat condition- avoiding matting. If the recommended schedule is ignored or your dog’s coat is consistently in a poor state additional fees may be incurred.
Aggressive dogs
Whilst every dog gets a chance at the salon, transparency is essential if your dog is aggressive for any part of the grooming process. This is a safety procedure due to the nature of working with sharp blades and scissors to protect all our clients and myself. If your dog poses a bite risk you could be charged an additional fee. This will be discussed before the service is booked. If you knowingly fail to disclose that your dog is aggressive it will result in termination of any future appointments.
Fleas
Hygiene and safety are a top priority at Golden Hour Grooming. We ask that you do not bring your dog to the salon if your dog has Fleas. A “spot on” treatment should be applied monthly to keep those pesky parasites at bay. However, please note this should not be applied with less 48 hours before a bath as this will reduce the effectiveness. If we do happen to find live Fleas in the coat we might have to send them home. If flea dirt or dead fleas are present we will wash them in a flea shampoo and attempt to eliminate them. This will be an additional £20 due to the cost of disinfecting the salon and the extra time for the flea shampoo to work.
Bitches
For the comfort and health of the dog I will not groom any bitches in season/heat, pregnant or with puppies under 8 weeks of age.
By booking an appointment you agree to all the above terms and conditions.
